The sun is a great ally for our health and state of mind. Helps us fight depression and anxiety, strengthens our immune system and is an ally of good humor, for example.
Beyond these undeniable benefits all we were happy with the tone that our skin gets when exposed to sunlight (but don’t forget to be well protected).
However, excessive exposure to the sun isn’t beneficial, instead, can have serious consequences, so there must be moderation.
Ideally, choose the late morning or late afternoon for sunbathing, as this is when the sun is less intense, which doesn’t mean that we don’t have also to protect ourselves with a sunscreen.
Excessive exposure to the sun causes premature skin aging, sunburn, dehydration and, in extreme cases, skin cancer.
With the arrival of summer is necessary to take some precautions with it and despite these being repeated year after year, it never hurts to remember:
Sunscreen: This should be applied every two hours, in abundance, preferably before sun exposure.
Drinking water: just as or even more important than the application of sunscreen. With exposure to the sun our body dehydrates faster, due to sweating and physical activity, becoming more vulnerable to sunburn.
Use proper protection: begin and end the summer with a high level of protection, never less than 30 SPF. Sunscreens allow you to get a tan more harmonious and lasting, including after the end of the summer.
Use an umbrella: your beach kit should always include an umbrella, hat, sunglasses and a t-shirt for when the sun is most intense.
Protect sensitive areas: nose, mouth, ears, eyes. Invest in a sunscreen for sensitive areas, there are several options available.
Vitamins: foods rich in vitamin C (tomatoes, oranges, kiwi, strawberry …) and E (corn, almonds, hazelnuts) are great allies to protect our skin from the sun.
Fulfilling these rules you are prepared to have a beautiful and healthy tan.
